...Ho Chi Minh declares independence for Vietnam (Ho). After Vietnam being ruled by the French for over 80 years, Ho Chi Minh decided it was enough (Vietnam Declaration). His speech has similar aspects of the U.S Declaration of Independence, stating that "All men are created equal."(Vietnam Declaration). Stating his speech in Ba Dinh Square, he was able to gather a very large group of people that listened to his speech (Ho). Ever since this speech, it became a factor of the spark of the civil war in Vietnam between the North and South (Vietnam Declaration).
